RVT Wanted for Mobile Clinic

Petmobile Clinic Inc. is looking for a RVT to fill a maternity leave from July 2, 2019 until approximately January 2021. It would be considered part time but hours would be close to full time (30 – 40 hours/week).

Must be available for a variety of shifts Mon- Fri and must have your own (reliable) vehicle and be willing to travel. I have staff that helps on weekends and evenings but if more hours are wanted and you could be available for after hours that would be great to have extra back-up.

We are a mobile clinic centered around Brandon, MB but sometimes we start from Shilo/Wawanesa area. Also must have a good driving record as at times I will have the RVT drive while I do paperwork. We practice low stress handling and low stress handling or fear free certification/training would be a huge asset. Good anesthesia monitoring skills and catheterization skills are also highly valued! We have digital x-ray, small surgery suite, and blood machines. We try to avoid critical care/hospitalization and we limit surgery to pets under 20kgs (as surgery suite is small). MUST be able to help carry/lift large dogs as we do a lot of in home euthanasias.

We have wonderful clients who are very kind and thankful. We are a team of two so your job would include not just RVT duties but all aspects of running a clinic (reception, monitoring emails/Facebook, estimates, writing files, orders, cleaning etc.). Must be comfortable working in snug spaces as well as working in client’s homes.

Must have good communication skills, pleasant and kind personality and neat/clean appearance! Must be very reliable (I have to cancel appointments if technician not available). I aim to provide, and highly value, a happy and positive work place! Pay would be based on the Non-DVM MVMA wage reports.

New grads are welcome to apply but preference may be given to more experienced technicians. References required. Apply by email to [email protected] and please text me to confirm receipt. If you have any questions you can phone and talk to me (Dr Liana Mawer) or the current RVT (Jolene) at 204 573-7266.
