RVT Instructor at Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Veterinary Technology Program, Saskatoon

Saskatchewan Polytechnic offers an accredited 2-year diploma in Veterinary Technology. We are seeking a RVT to join our amazing faculty in a part-time (0.5 FTE, on-going) instructor position. The starting date is January 2, 2020.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: coordinating laboratory equipment, supplies and live animal requests; designing, updating and constructing materials for lecture and/or laboratory-based courses; delivering lectures and laboratory sessions as assigned; student evaluation; student advising. Focus is on coordinating and teaching laboratory and clinical skills. Subjects taught include but are not limited to anatomy, diagnostic testing (parasitology, clinical pathology, microbiology), veterinary nursing skills, veterinary dentistry, anesthesia, and radiology. Collaboration and modelling of the veterinary team concept are essential components of this position. Our learning model blends on-line instruction with in-person lab and clinical experiences.

Applicants must be eligible to join the SVMA as a Registered Veterinary Technologist, have a minimum of 3 years of recent/relevant clinical experience preferably in a small or mixed animal general practice, be committed to continual learning, and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.
