RRC needs Volunteers for their VT Program Advisory and Animal Care Committee

Red River College is currently looking for volunteers from across all disciplines to join either our Veterinary Technology Program Advisory Committee or our Animal Care Committee. You are welcome to join both committees if interested! The time commitment for either committee is approximately 2 hours, two times per year (Spring & Fall). The meetings are currently held virtually.

The Veterinary Technology Program Advisory Committee advises the program and its instructors on the program objectives and learning content of the courses in the program. The advisory committee plays a crucial role in maintaining full accreditation of the VT program with the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). Next Scheduled meeting is November 26, 2020 at Noon.

The Animal Care Committee (ACC) oversees live animal use within the Veterinary Technology program at RRC to ensure that their participation is justified and that they are treated humanely. The ACC utilizes the standards for animal care as outlined in the most current Guide to the Care and Use of Experimental Animals published by the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC). Next Scheduled meeting is December 10, 2020 at Noon.

To join a committee or obtain further information, please contact Curtis Aab, Chair of Life Sciences, by email at [email protected].

Role: Committee members to share the RVT perspective during the meetings.
